Cole Ogden Wins The Wicked Weekend
Awesome weekend at the Wicked Weekend held in Gainesville, GA! All of my equipment worked great and I couldn't be happier.
In qualifying, I had some troubles in truggy with the first 2 quals, but still qualified 5th overall. In buggy, I TQ'ed the first 2 rounds, and tried some changes for the main in the 3rd.
Going into mains, I got a great start in the truggy main. I made it to 2nd in the first 2 corners. Joe Bornhorst had already pulled a good gap between the two of us in the opening 5 minutes. After pit stops came around, my strategy was 10 minute pits. With Joe having about 12 seconds on me, he had to pit again and I didn't. It might have been a close race to the end but I made one mistake and the marshall fumbled me around for a few minutes so I lost 13 seconds in one lap. So I had finished in a comfortable 2 spot!
In buggy, the top 4 of us were battling hard for the first 5 minutes. I made one bad mistake the cost me a couple of positions which left Joe in the lead to pull away. After a few minutes ticked off, I buckled down and started putting in laps....caught up to Joe at about the 13 minute mark and we both were battling super strong until about the 2nd pit stop. Bornhorst ended up having issues which left me with a 1 lap lead for the remainder of the race. I came away with yet another wicked weekend pro buggy victory making this the 3rd year in a row for me!
My equipment worked perfect this past weekend and I couldn't be happier with my stuff! Huge thanks to my dad for all of his help, and another huge thanks to Casey Wilson for his help in and out of the pits all weekend.
